The Beem x Szmydtke collection translates sculptural form into jewellery.
Each piece originates from small-scale sculptures created by Magdalena Szmydtke especially for this collaboration, paired with raw, unpolished amber.
The result is a limited series of wearable objects balancing materiality, form and natural irregularity.
Magdalena Szmydtke is an ceramist based in Gdynia. Her practice moves between art and design, creating unique objects that explore the relationship between function and form.
Her work is rooted in the landscape of the Baltic Sea — its organic structures, shifting light and quiet presence. She transforms the softness of dunes and the rhythm of the shoreline into tactile, contemporary forms, each shaped by hand and finished with her own glaze compositions.
This collection really started with a friendship.
p.s.
We met Magdalena through Beem Studio and pretty quickly we felt it wouldn't just be a collaboration. It just clicked like it sometimes.
We asked her to make small ceramic forms for us, something raw, just shaped by hand. Those pieces became the starting point. Later we translated them into silver, trying to keep everything that made them special in the first place.
Everything is made in Poland, close to home, close to the hands that shaped it. That part really matters to us. Raw amber, organic shapes, uneven, imperfect on purpose.
A small tribute to the Baltic.
